Christened EN'RGISE (Enterprise Related Generalized Information System), the product is being developed in two phases: Phase 1: Materials, Finance and HR Applications Phase 2: Operation & Maintenance, Billing (including Customer Information System), Energy Audit, and Project Management. EN'RGISE will be a solution that is database-independent at the back-end, GUI-enhanced using Visual-Basic/Oracle Forms 4.5 as front-end, using ODBC connectivity. |
Calcutta (1998 onwards) | Project Director for Computerization and Modernization of the Communication System of West Bengal State Electricity Board. This is a World Bank funded project (value over Rs 50 crores). It involves installation of a statewide VSAT-based network spread across 120 sites. TCS plays the role of the systems integrator and program manager, and is also required to develop ORACLE-based applications in the areas of Materials Management and MIS. |

Liverpool, UK (1994-97) | Project Manager for the Data Compiler and Decompiler (DCD) Enhancement and Support Project at GPT, Liverpool. DCD is a set of off-line S/W tools, which enable a SYSTEM/X Network Administration to perform the following tasks: · Load bulk data onto each exchange ideal for initial startup, · Validate data prior to any load using a file of data parameters specified by the network admn as being valid for that exchange, · Audit the working exchange at any point of time producing data comparison with result of previous audits. The SYSTEM/X is a Multipurpose modern Electronics Digital Telephone Exchange, one of the vital Products of GPT Ltd at Liverpool. The GPT has got so many customers for SYSTEM/X in UK and Overseas. This is an Enhancement and Support Project in Vax/VMS 5.3 and COBOL environment with CMS tools. |
Calcutta, Farakka (1993-94) | Project Manager for the On-line Integrated Material, Finance and Accounts System (OLIMFAS) for National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC)/Farakka, India. The Project involves Analysis, Design, Development and Implementation of on-line Integrated Materials and Financial Accounts System. It included the following modules for Materials (Material Planning & Inventory Control, Material Procurement, Stores Maintenance (Receipt & Inspection, Insurance, Custody etc.), Accounts (Purchase Accounting, Stores Accounting, Works Accounting, Staff Establishment a/c, Fixed Asset a/c, Bank Accounting), Finance (Budget Preparation & Monitoring, Fund Flow Statement). This was a turnkey development project involving 166 person-months of effort over a period of 14 calendar months elapsed time (TCS effort was 126 person-months & NTPC effort was 40 person-months), on VAX-3400/4200, VMS-5.5-2, COBOL and Ingres-6.4. |
